Alex's Lemonade Stand

Mission / About Us

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Logo

  • To raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures.
  • To encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.

Alex Scott from Manchester, Connecticut held her first lemonade stand when she was a four year old cancer patient. She wanted some way to help the 200,000 children worldwide who are diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer each year. Her legacy lives on in Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which has raised more than $50 million for pediatric cancer research. Help us honor Alex’s courage and selflessness by donating to our Alex’s Lemonade Stand by Friends of Rehanna and Henry this year.

On June 8th, our children and their friends (ages 13 & under) will spend the afternoon selling lemonade at Fun Fore All in Cranberry Twp., PA by hosting our fifth annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand. We started our stand four years ago to honor the memory of our friend, Henry Keating Scheck, who passed away on February 25, 2009 at the age of four. Last year, our stand honored Henry as well as the memory of another young friend, Rehanna Lydon. Rehanna was our honorary host two years ago and she thoroughly enjoyed herself that day, but sadly, died just five weeks later on Aug. 1, 2011 at the age of 11.

Inspired by the fun that Rehanna had at our stand in 2011, last year we created a new event for our Alex's Lemonade Stand called help'12. It was such a success that it's returning this year as help'13. help'13 is designed to celebrate pediatric cancer patients and survivors – and to give them a chance to hope, enjoy, laugh and play together. In addition to all of the fun activities that are available every day at Fun Fore All, at help’13 our special guests will enjoy the activities of our lemonade stand, such as a visit from the Pirate Parrot and Garrison Carida’s Star Wars characters, the PNC Cash Cube, a dunk tank, face painting, Eat ‘n Park cookie decorating and basket raffles. Lunch and, of course, lemonade will also be provided to our help'13 attendees.

Over the past four years, our family has raised almost $50,000. Our goal this year is to raise an additional $25,000. All monetary donations go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, a 501(c)3 public charity.

Pediatric cancer patients and survivors can register for help'13 online here.
